Audio/Visual….
Rugrats in Paris is a 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen presentation.
Being a recently made animated movie, I was expecting to see a beautiful transfer on DVD and I wasn't disappointed. The picture quality is superb with no noticeable faults and colours are presented very well.
This feature has DD 5.1 sound.
The Audio is mainly focussed at the front soundstage and moves evenly between the mains and centre speakers..There is occasional use of directional sound with the mains. The rear speakers don't seem to do much for most of this movie but then they suddenly come to life in scenes such as the plane taking off and when it zooms over Paris, the fireworks scene and they really combine well with the front soundstage in the "Ooey Gooey World" ride scenes.
The sub doesn't draw much attention to itself, but does thump every now and them with the various music tracks such as "Who Let The Dogs Out".
Speech is clear and easy to understand and it's always fun with these animated movies to match the characters to the celebrity voices.
Extra features…..

Rugrats In Paris Documentary. - Is a 'making of' that has interviews with various cast and crew and also has clips from the movie as well as plenty of behind the scenes clips too.

Sound effects showcase. - Is the Chuckie Chan Dream Sequence where you can listen to the sound effects by themselves or in the movie. Listening to the sound effects alone is really cool and worth checking out.

Alternate endings. - You get to look at 2 different Coco Endings here.

Baha Men - Music video "Who Let The Dogs Out". - The music video to that song!

Trailers and Promos. - 1 theatrical trailer and 2 funny, but very short promo spots.
Overall…..
I had the chance to review this with my 2 year old daughter and I'm pleased to say that we both enjoyed it. There is plenty of colours, music and action happening on the screen to keep the kids entertained and there's some jokes in there for us older viewers too.
I especially liked the Godfather parody at the start.
As I said earlier, it's always fun watching these animated movies and matching the characters to the celebrities names.
Rugrats In Paris: The Movie, is a fun DVD to have for the kids and it even has the occasional joke in there for the mums and dads.
This is a must for anyone who likes the Rugrats (big or small).
Thanks for reading…
