I hope someone can help me with trying to record DVD to VHS on my new Samsung V540. (Combo DVD/VHS)
The instruction book gives no clues.
The DVD I am trying to copy is a short movie I made recently.
Probably more likely to get a response in this section.
As long as it is one that you have made yourself, someone should be able to help.

you are breaking the law if you copy comercial dvd or divx movies, however I have been using the following method to copy my dvd "HOME" movies from my sony dvd camcorder to tape. 1) you will need a tv with audio and video out ports to do this, for best results watch the dvd/video through AV/line in of the tv and not the tv tuner. 2) run av leads from the audio/vid OUT of the tv to the front av IN ports on the dvd/vcr (line in 2), 3) insert a tape and press record, then press pause, then use the inpup sel (on remote) to rec line 2, at this point the pic will go all screwy (if you have done it right!), dont worry about it yet, 4) press dvd on the remote and start to play the dvd, when it gets to the start of where you want to record press pause, 5) press vcr on the remote again an press pause/play button to UNpause record, qucly press dvd on the remote again and press play. it will now be recording the dvd, note that if you do anything to the tv while its recording ( sound up down etc) you will prob record the on sreen display but only iff the tv outputs the OSD to its own av/vid out
