DVD Burning Question - Region Code

I have a home made video which I've put on my computer. I want to burn it on to DVD to send to a friend in Europe but one thing puzzles me, what region does the DVD come under when it's burned? I know that in Europe they run under Region 2 and we run under Region 4...Any help is appreciated :)

If you do not select any region it will not have any region. AFAIK Nero (for example) does not add it. It will thus be region free and playable on an R2 dvd player.
