UMD Movies? on sony PSP

Hi all

Has anyone heard about sony launching "UMD" versions of some movies to watch on the portable playstation?

Apparently they will cost the same as a regular DVD - So ... whats the point? I think I would rather have the full and real DVD as opposed to a UMD that can only be played on a playstation.

The fact that the PSP's only use the UMD and memory sticks limits the media that can be used, but obviously they thought the public would respond enough to the option.

I can't see the $30 for a dvd that can only be watched on the 4 inch screen being worth it, but maybe those that spend a couple of hours a day on a train commuting do?

My guess is that sony might have a home based UMD player all lined up to be released, depending on the markets response to the UMD dvd's.
