Hi there,
Bought the Topfield TF4000T box a few days ago and I'm a little disappointed
with the quality of the YUV component output image. Ghosting and other
rubbish is gone and the colours are vivid and clean (good!) but the images
themselves seem to lack a little resolution (bad!). Not quite as crisp as
images from my YUV component DVD player, for example (I expected them to be
about the same in quality).

I'm displaying the image on a 68cm 4:3 screen with YUV component input and
swapping between "letterbox" and "full screen" display. The lack of
crispness seems more pronounced on the full screen images.

Question:
1. Is this "normal" or should I be taking the box back?
2. Could this be because of the component adaptor/cable supplied with the
box, which is what I'm using? ie: would spending more money on a decent
SCART to YUV adaptor and good cable improve the image? What would that cost?
(That would be a shame because one of the reasons I bought this box is
because everything came supplied).

Any previous experience with this or suggestions would be appreciated.

DejaVu.
This post just keeps on re-appearing, on Topfield, DTV and newsgroup forums.
I guess not many people own one of these, and probably not many hook up with
component.
If it is anything like the TF5000PVRt complaints (some people completely
happy, some completely unhappy) then I guess the best solution is to try and
find a SCART-RGB input on your viewing device (always superb on the toppy),
or buy one of those SCART-RGB to YUV active converters for about $120 such
as http://www.australiandigitaltv.com.au/accessories/rgbcomp.htm
or live with pretty good svideo.

Regards
Tony
