Not quite the way I read it. The fine print at the bottom, under "Recharge
Credits," says "new free calls anytime and text & talk - valid for 6 months.
Free calls & text Anytime - Valid for 60 days." So only one of the three
plans apparently has a 60 day limit.

Optus needs to clarify this.

I agree - my understanding is that only the Free C&T plan has a 60-day
limit for recharge credits (ie your $30/$50 of standard credits only
lasts 60 days). For the other two, your recharge credit lasts 6
months.

For the free calls balances on the other hand (on either of the
applicable plans), it looks like these only last 60 days. Similarly
for the free text balance on the C&T plan. That is, after 60 days,
your 100 min/100 SMS balance drops to nil, but your recharge balance
(ie $ value for standard calls/SMS) remains valid for another 4 months.

Seems to be a pretty complicated way to do things.

Am I the only one who thinks those offers are shit? dosn't compete with
telstra prepaid plus 1c per min or the $49 cap on voda.. all intranetwork
crap..

existing plans are ridiculously uncompetitive.

Seems like an attempt to stop migrations to Vodafone prepaid.

Yep, I wouldn't choose any of the 'free to other Optus PPM' offers.

The '30for10 Night' deal would be my pick (still available when
activating online), then the '18c text+talk to any mobile' deal, which
isn't too bad for daytime calling, for people that wouldn't spend
anywhere near $50/month.
