well i've only ever used 98se, so i can't really give an opinion from personal experience, but from what i've heard 2k would be one of the best. but it all depends on what you want to use it for doesn't it?

I've used all the above OS's and I've found Win@K to be the best all-rounder followed, if not tied by XP Pro. NT is secure and stable but is severely restricted in gaming support and 98SE is too unstable but has inherent DOS support for the older games.

It's just my opinion based on experience both at work and play! It would be interesting to run this poll again in 12 -18 months and include Linux in it next time?

The most stable OS I used was Windows 3.1.

Windows 95 was second

and so goes down the list.

Win 2k is OK but it runs much more slowly and takes up a lot more space than older OS's

Still 7.1 is THE best. It's also home to the best Windows: 98. Which I need to upgrade to from this shitty ME.
