Have VisionPlus Terrestrial digital TV tuner installed in PC.
Also have TEAC DVB-400 set top box connected to TV.

Today whilst raining I wanted to record "Rally Australia preview"
using PC tuner card. However it kept pixelating and locking up,
then would play a few frames then lock up again.

Went and tried TEAC connected to TV.
It had a perfect uninterrupted picture.

Both use the same antenna.

Some tuners are simply better than others. STBs also have the advantage that
they are housed separately away from other components, while PC cards are
all confined in close proximity to other cards etc.

Also the cabling to the PC card might make a difference. Is the antenna coax
coming off the main antenna using cheaper/lesser cable? Could be something
like that.

You should first try the tuner card on the antenna cable you connect to the
Teac.

Same problem? Could be an insensitive tuner or some dodgy software.

I have a STB and a PC tuner card running off the same antenna with no
problems. Check all your connections to the PC.

It seems it can be the software.
I have a visionplus too.
The visionplus software does tend to pixilate but if I use showshifter
then everything is OK.
Makes no sense.
