Hi All,
Just wandering if anyone saw the Centrex DVD recorder listed in the Harris Scarf catologue today. In its description it states DIVX.. now I'm not sure if it means it can play divx or record in divx or what.. Does anyone have this machine and if so can they tell me some more info about it and if it is any good.. It is $299 and the catologue is in Today's Herald Sun.
Thanks,
Andy

It definitely won't be able to record to DivX format. Not even the expensive units do that yet.

There are two DVD recorder chipsets available at the moment that can do DivX playback, neither one are particularly good at it though, still a bit early in the development for these. DivX encoding is coming but is still a little way off just yet.

I went to jb hifi last night and I really like the Pioneer DVR-320.. Does anyone use this unit and if so have you had any problems with it.
Main reason why I like it is that is used dvd -r and -rw.. as -r and -rw is all I use and they are cheaper than +. Also the VR mode is sounds great.
Also I have a Pioneer burner on my computer and never had a problem with any discs so I trust the brand in this area.
