Hi,
I'm considering buying one of these to use with my pano ae700 just wondering if I have to use dvi cable to get 720p from it or can i use component or vga cables (which i already have)
Cheers,

You can definitely do 576p over component and I think you can do 720p also, but I'm not 100% sure.
Less optimistic about the chances of 720p over VGA (i.e. RGB), but I guess you'd need to check the Samsung specs to know for certain.
Best check on the Samsung specs, like bac said, re what it can output.
If the Samsung can output 1280x720p on a VGA output, the Panasonic AE700 loves that (it is it's native mode).
I am running this out of a PC to an AE700 via VGA, and it is very nice.
Also, the AE700 has a HDMI input, not DVI, so if the Samsung does DVI, you will need a DVI to HDMI cable if you chose to go that way.

My suspicions are that you can only do 720p via dvi. That was so for the previous models.

I thought it was illegal for manufacturers to do Hi def out from component outputs and that is why only a few chinese players do it via component. Copyright breach or something. Check the specs. :dD
My 2 cents
