Home Theatre Question (Sony DAV-C770)

Hi there,

My Sony DAV-C770, has decided to stop reading disks. :confused:
So i've decided to buy a new DVD player and connect it to the sony unit via optical cable.

My question is, can i just choose any DVD player to connect up or are there things i need to consider to get the most out of the existing sony surround sound system? i.e. does the replacement DVD player need to have Dobly / audio decoders etc. or will the existing sony system take care of that?

Bendy, buy any decent DVD player which plays all regions, your amp should decode the dvd's and you are back in the game
