Hi all! I am a new member here and was wondering if anyone can help me out. I want to transfer the audio of some concert DVDs that i have onto my harddrive so i can then burn them to CD for listening in the car. Is there any way that Real Player or Windows Media Player can handle this, or do I need another program? (another free one would be good!) Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
By the way, these are home made concert DVD's of my brother's band...not copywited material!

Depending on your sound card it has to be Full Duplex ie can play and record at the same time if so play the dvd in the drive and record the audio with the audio recorder.
Or play the dvd in an external player and output the audio into the line in of the PC to record the audio.

It might not be that easy, what format is the audio on the DVD? You will need to record the stereo pcm tracks from the DVD in a format that the CD player in your car can cope with.
If the DVD is recorded in DTS, or it is an actual DVD audio DVD then I expect it might not be possible unless your sound card has RCA in.
I have never tried so dont really know however.

There are plenty of how-to guides at www.dvdrhelp.com there should be something that will give the right results. Depending on the disc it may have some form of copy protection though.

Thank you guys for your inputs...I will have to find out from my brother how he recorded it. It was originally shot on a digital camera and then transferred to DVD. Will get some more info....thx again!
