View Full Version : Place to get a Mitsubishi serviced?

I have a Verada GTV, built October 2002. It's done about 35,000 kilometres.

I recently took it interstate and back and the speedo is 'sticking' -
occasionally it will simply stop moving. Also, the cruise control
correspondingly cannot maintain a proper speed.

The car's not technically due for a service but it could use one anyway
I think. It could also use a proper detail and some trivial scratch
repairs.

I'm absolutely sick of the Mitsubishi dealers and their shit (trying to
overservice/overcharge, trying to sell me a new car, offering to buy my
old one, forcing me to sign contracts with 'terms' that are unacceptable
to me, etc). Any ideas what I can do in Melbourne?

Or to put that another way, are there any honest car dealers?

They're about as common as honest customers -- which makes 'em few and
far between. :)

They "forced" you tosign a contract!?

Prove it and you're out of it, keeping the vehicle without having to
pay a cent.

No, that's not what I meant. Why do people on Usenet engage in this
sort of talk?

I went to Ballarat Mitsubishi to get my car detailed. They put a
contract in front of me that had the usual terms (I cannot sue them
regardless of the circumstances, etc). It also had a term that they
reserve the right to use non-genuine parts thereby voiding my warranty.
I wasn't happy with that. They also had a term that they have the
right to drive my car for an unlimited distance, including on the
highway. I didn't sign the contract, but the point is that they can put
you in a position where you are forced to sign it if you want the thing
serviced.

Your words
"I'm absolutely sick of the Mitsubishi dealers and their shit (trying

Begs the question, Why claim they "forced" you into sighning a
contract?
Seems that if you want to be understood on usenet, or anywhere, you
should accurately state your case!

Hang on, you ststed that they forced you to sign a contract where in
fact they just placed it in front of you and because you didn't like
the terms, and rightly just walked away.

Please try to be more clear in future to avoid confusion.
