Spotted in the new Harvey Norman catalogue
$799, or $699 after 'Trade N Save' discount. Might see if I can trade in my old Lenoxx DVD Player in on it.
I'd assume it's DIVX capability is equal to the 8900P.... at least, I hope so!
Anyone happened to have bought one yet?
Mode Number is RH7500 or RH7521 (the pic was 7500, the catalogue indicated 7521).

I wouldn't count on the DivX performance being the equal of the 8900 just because it's an LG, there are a limited variety of chipsets at the moment for recorders that give DivX playback also, the MediaTek offering shows promise but still needs some sorting, the LSI is getting closer, there is one by Cirrus Logic which I doubt LG would consider, it's essentially an entry level offering. I think for any recorder the focus will be on the recording capability and support for DivX playback etc is just a bonus, if they get it spot on great, but even if they go close I think they will satisfy the majority of users anyway.

If it's close it's good enough I think. I had a quick google, and only found European references to it.
I think I will wait and see what tech specs show up about it before I buy. But at $699 after trade in (getting $100 for my Lenoxx would be awesome), it's a very temting buy.
Wonder if they'd be happy to hook one up so I can test a few discs.... hmmmmm, might go lookup the closest HN to my new job.... :D

Don't want to put you off your purchase at all but you may find a DVD recorder with HDD (80gb likely at this stage), PVR functionality, editing etc and DivX playback in the market for quite a bit less than the LG reasonably soon. I'm sure the LG would be a decent unit anyway.
