View Full Version : Motorola V3
Any good or bad comments about the Motorola V3?
Does Optus and Vodafone still have free time for new plans?
Also, before the providers used to offer money as an incentive to switch
over... . (2 years ago I got $50 off my bill or something when I switched to
Optus) does any of that still exist???
Thanks

doesnt record video - which is absolutely ridiculous for the price.
Also, motorola fones have the shittiest menus ever, so for that price you better hope the asthetics are worth the cost cause the fone is quite average tech except for the size

Mostly steel casing. Gotta love that.
Keypad faults are a possible issue, but once they're fixed, they're fixed:)
Bloody nice phone. About time a decent phone came out that reached from ear
to mouth instead of the other pissy offerings.

for me, its only feature is its head turning looks.
other than that, its a pretty crap phone feature wise... little annoyances
everywhere
like you can only search the phonebook by first letter (big problem when u
have 20 people starting with s)
phone lags in general, adding to the above problem
my inbox, god damn, still shows the phone number instead of the matching
name in the phonebook. makes me wonder if it was ever fixed since the old
moto days... maybe theres a reason why mine isnt doing it, but its damn
annoying (numbers are on the phone only (not on sim) and theres no
duplicates)
java applets (games) start with sound even though the phone is on silent...
the camera is dog shit for a phone that costs so much (its VGA but the worst
vga cam i've seen, and i've been through quite a few camera phones)
and the limited memory makes mp3 playback only suitable for ringtones.

Another negative....don't let your mates flip it open "quickdraw" style
(remember the Nokia 8910?). The top flip is heavy enough to snap right off,
and you'll have at best a blank display/no speaker with a broken ribbon
cable, or at worst a non warranty $400+ repair bill for a complete flip and
main upper housing (over the keys) to fight over who will pay.........duh.
And a long time without the phone:(

new firmware (c2r) has issues (namely an audio system screw up that crashes
the phone) after an outgoing call has been made...
stick to c0r until an update is realeased... and yes, the c2r firmware adds
searching the phonebook with multiple characters.
