unlock codes for jvc xv-n3?

I'm having trouble finding the code for this player. It is set for region 1 only. Any ideas would be great. I have found a code for the jvc xv-n5, but am not sure if they would work or not?

Try the code for the n5 (if it's just key presses on the remote, not a disc update).
It may be that they use the same codes.

I will try that and hope-it is just a series of button presses. If it doesn't work, should I just reverse the process and set it the way it was, or will it just default back?

If it doesn't work, it just won't work (if that makes sense) In other words if the code is wrong it will make no change to your player at all.
