Am looking for the 80s movie "Philadephia Experiment". It's about a WW2
aircraft carrier that "disappears" during anti-radar trials. Two of the
crew end up 40 years into the future.

Local video stores don't have it on their databases (Video Ezy and
Network Video).

I think K-Mart were recently selling a boxset that includes this movie and its sequel for approx. $15.

Hi,

It's available in R1 and R4 (I haven't bothered checking the other regions). The
R4 release is 'pan and scan' full screen (YUK) and the R1 release is widescreen.

Yeah, I am convinced that Ebay confirms the old say about a fool and his
money being parted. I've seen some ridiculous sales go there. People
paying well above retail for second hand goods.

The DVD Gallery in Double Bay (if you live in Sydney) have this
available for rent, and it's the superior Anchor Bay version. It's
encoded for all regions.

it was nasty because it was a 4:3 transfer straight from a crappy vhs. im used to anamorphic 16:9 transfers, and dont look too kindly on poor quality reproductions of films. aka, it was nasty.

Nup,

'The Final Countdown' is an unrelated movie to the discussion going on here.

'The Philadelphia Experiment' involves a Navy Cruiser in Boston Harbour
conducting anti-radar tests during early WWII. The experiment opens a wormhole
to a future experiment conducted in 1984, through which two navy personnel jump.

The movie then basically chronicles their efforts to understand and ultimately
undo this mishap.

It`s also one of the worst movies ever made. Pity because the book was quite
readable. Another good book murdered By Hollywood.

Not much.. Just doing homework for my library course.

I think I saw The Philadelphia Experiment in the early 80s. I know it
didn't hold my interest at all. I was a wee teenager back then.
