Hi guys and girls. I am looking for a 1971/72 VH Valiant RT Charger. I am after a 2 barrel, e37, e38 or e49. It must be a genuine car. If you know some1 that owns one even if they are not too keen on selling let me know. IF you know a old person who might have one, or a friend of a friend contact me and I'll do the hard work. My email is: valiantcharger@optushome.com.au

Preferably in QLD. Condition is not an issue.

If you put me on to a car that I end up buying a small spotters fee will be provided.

Cheers David Hughes.

How small are we talking, and what's your budget?

I know you know it (and I know you know I know you know I know you know
it...._) etc - but I'd suggest that if nothing turns up at moparmarket
then the only other place to look is classified papers. I've had sweet
FA responses to much chrysler related stuff here (there are a few people
into them, but it wouldn't seem there's too many rts for sale at any
time so they're unlikely to feel the need to pop in here to advertise
them)

Yeah I am aware of Moparmarket.com and I'm not techincally after ones that may be for sale. Sure let me know incase I miss them but most of them are for sale on Moparmarket, that Australian Muscle Car site one etc. I am trying to just broarden my search options. Also seeing if people just know some1 that might know of one sitting *not for sale* and then I can approach the owner.

Fraser - What kind of VH are you after model wise? And whats your price range seen a few for sale at the moment. I currently have a VJ 770 Charger but would like to go to an RT.

As to a small spotters fee say $20-100. Just a way of saying thanks *but as I said if I buy the car*.

John - What kind of chrysler parts etc are you after possibly I may be able to help you out, definently not saying i can, but us chrysler guys gotta help eachother out.

Any VH will do as I plan an engine swap in the near future anyway. I guess
price depends on condition but probably $5-$10k. Preferably in WA. Just
bought a new house so I may have to sell off my investment property first.
Then I have to convince the wife. : )

I know what you mean. Back when I bought my Val, I just happened to see
it under someone's car port. The next day I knocked in her door and
said, "Hi, I live down the street. Just wondering... I don't suppose
you'd consider selling your Valiant?"

She was like, "... oh... err... I never thought about it... I'll ask my
husband when he comes home..."

Next day, hubby knocks on my door and goes, "$2000 - no offers because
I wasn't planning on selling it."

I went, "Sold! I'll just go down to the bank now."

Turns out the car had been in the family all it's life, and had never
been crashed. I couldn't have asked for better than that.

Yeah these are the ones I'm after. So if you've seen one in a garage or know some1 that has one in a garage etc. I'm trying to find the unfound cars of yesteryear and give them a loving home.

My current charger was the same diesel. Well it was advertised but was a one family car owned by a guy and when he died his wife drove it till she was 78 and decided it was too big for her. Then her son took hold of it and was about 35 and he's into commodores and datsuns. It was a beaut and i did not negotiate on price due to the quality of it.

But yeah just reiterating what I said I'm probably after more of a barn/shed/garage car thats sitting and driven rarely or not at all.

Hahahahaha. Knocked *on* her door. There was nothing mafia-style about
my purchase of this Valiant - just to get that clear =)

Indeed. Don't know what he was thinking giving it to me for only $2000.
I would've had no hesitation even if he asked for $4000 =)
