Currently on Optus's $79.00 cap but 1300 and 13 numbers not being included
are costly - especially at the inflated 'cap' rates.
Please advise.

Nope.
Except that if you get recharges at woolies/safeway/dicksmiths - It's
10% off :).
Damn good value.

Apparently there are some GPRS issues when using your laptop - you cant do thing like outlook and MSN (see a different post)
It is a 30day expiary rather then one month on prepay or 1 month on capped monthly.
For the $49 cap
"Excluded calls not available include international calls in excess of 20 minutes, international and national roaming, special numbers eg 1900 numbers and competitions, Voting and Premium TXT and M Commerce Transactions including buying movie tickets etc."
13 and 18 numbers are available.

Nope. Comes with the lot. GPRS, voicemail, MMS, SMS, calls, whatever. 'Cept
Voda don't support PTT, and never will according to their staff.
The $49 cap is plenty for most people, I've only used $42 in two weeks.
Granted, before that I had a $30 recharge card in, and the unused V-V calls
and SMS carry over, thus the low usage.
Vf is also charged per second.

National Roaming is a service for PostPay Vodafone customers only that you
can opt to enable and if you run out of Vodafone Coverage in a few selected
areas in Victoria and Tasmania you roam on to the telstra network (at a
inflated call rate, not included in caps)

It's nor really PTT, it's getting a voicemail emailed to you, no
guarantee on delivery time, so it's not really interactive like a
walkie talkie would be.
If you're on a Voda cap, just keep yakking...
