Hi All, long time reader, first time poster :)
I decieded to upgrade my DivX player yesterday due to me having some issues with the minimalist nature of my XMS-888. So I had a quick squiz here and decieded on the LG 8900P (got it from BigW for $173). So far I am very happy with it, it's a much better unit and looks a lot less "whacked together in a shed somewhere" than the XMS-888 did. It is also a perfect match to my LG 153cm RPTV and LG HomeTheatre :).
Only issue I have had is the GMC "out of sync audio" problem, I am impressed though that it can actually render the video as the XMS-888 whould just skip anything that was half-way decently encoded.
What I would like to know is if the GMC issue with the LG8900P could "realistically" be fixed with a firmware update? Or will I have to re-encode the DivX files that have this problem?
