I see very little with respect to firmware upgrade or hacks associated if being able to turn off macrovision protection on the current batches of divx players.
5 or so years ago a bought a JNL DVD player and it was a simple 4 digit code and voila.
Any info on XMS units, I have XMS888. When it dies I'll go for LG I believe.

As pointed out already, disabling Macrovision is illegal and is not a topic for discussion here, Thread closed.

Macrovision cannot be disabled by a player or firmware update as it is illegal and enforced. Just buy a signal stabalizer if you need to use it with non-friendly equipment.
