Hmmm... there must be a bundle of ways to take advantage of this.
- Get CDMA double-recharge credits and transfer them to your GSM
service
- Transfer $30 in $1 lots - costs $7.50 in transfer fees but extends
your credit expiry more than 1 year
- Buy starter packs when retailers sell them '2 for 1' then use those
to recharge your existing service
Might not have to port my CDMA service out to SC Mobile after all...

Credit Me2U - Do you have friends and family that also have Telstra
Pre-Paid Plus mobile services? This new and exciting service is a way
for you to send them credit (or even better - get them to send some to
you!). This service costs 25 cents each time you transfer credit, which
is charged to the person sending the credit. You can send between $1 -
$10 credit per 24 hours.
· To send credit to another Telstra Pre-Paid Plus mobile service
number will cost the person sending the credit 25 cents for each
successful transfer.
· The value of credit that can be sent between Telstra Pre-Paid Plus
mobile service numbers must be whole dollar amount between the values
$1 - $10.
· You can transfer up to $10 worth of credit per 24 hours to other
Telstra Pre-Paid Plus mobile service numbers.
· Credit transferred to another Telstra Pre-Paid Plus mobile service
extends any existing credit expiry date by 2 weeks.

Looks interesting but doesn't seem to work with a Hyundai Gullible CDMA
because the menu text can't be "returned."
Sending a menu item number such as "1" (Balance) simply returns another copy
of the menu. Ideas, anyone?

Same with my samsung cdma sch-a561 (rainbow)
Telstra, lost the plot again. Blame it on Doctor Z.

Fark, y'kidding - that's the 'Loop' handset, right? Is it actually
unable to 'reply' to the original menu SMS; or are you able to send a
reply, but it just resends the menu?

Bugger eh? I'd just call 125111 and ask them to transfer the credit on
your behalf (or whichever menu item you were after). I'm not unsure
whether they'd do it, though. It shouldn't be too difficult for them
to do, and after all, you're just asking them to do something that they
have advertised as possible, but the handset that they sold you won't
do.
Or perhaps, if you can be bothered, sell your old Gulliver (I wonder
how much of your $35 you'll get back :) and get a new CDMA handset.
Telstra's just dropped the Nokia 2112 $30, to $99.

I tried a manual transfer of the credit via the operator.
No Can Do.

They cant do it, they dont have the facility.

Thats a handset issue. Refer to your manufacturer, not Telstra

Probably a great deal, actually.

Just tried transferring $1 from my GSM to CDMA service, the 8250 freezes
between the "Enter amount" and "Authorise" screens. Sending an SMS via
my Hyundai HGC-310E doesn't result in any activity.
Would be a nice feature if it actually worked! :)

Yes, it's stuffed. I had the same results. Tried logging a fault on 125111
but the droid and it's team leader hadn't heard of the service. Attempts to
point the droid and it's team leader to the Telstra website were useless.
I'll try a formal request in writing; won't hold breath.

Just tried again and it successfully transferred credit from the GSM -->
CDMA service. Haven't tried the other way though.

Same here. GSM->GSM and GSM->CDMA works OK. However CDMA-> CDMA or CDMA->GSM
is totally stuffed. Keeps sending the original menu selection back to you.
Another Telstra blunder.

Little slow Mikey... look two posts down and it did work eventually.
Calling 1258888 for account balance also took ages to connect, so maybe
the TPP+ server was a little slow to respond at the time.
Still trying to get CDMA to work though...

if you're desperate for the balance, call 1258880. the consultant will
have the balance on the screen. it's generally quicker via 1258888.

Good for you. I know some Team Leaders and staff as well. That's
because C8 CS is one of the areas I work in.
Don't insult mine or anybody else's intelligence in this NG with your
ignorance.
