OK,
We have the lg dv9723p $134 or the telefunken dvd223 $99 or the omni dx4200 $88.
Which one to get?
Which one will give the best overall divx,avi.... playback?
Any opinions would be great.
I don't have either the LG or telefunken, but do have Z330, Rowa, Omni DX4200.
Out of those, the Z330 is the best all round, supporting packed bitstream and avi subtitles.
The Omni Dx4200 has as good picture output, very good remote (in terms of range etc), same video / audio outputs, but no packed bitstream support (jerky playback, unless the file is first modified with mpeg4modifier), and no divx subtitle support.
Up to you how much you want to pay though.
From what people have written re the telefunken, I would go for the omni, if you don't want USB, & if you are looking at the cheaper end. (the omni certainly has a better chipset)

Thanks for that.
However what you want divx subtitle file support?
Which is the better one. or is there another at this price range?

- subtitle support, either Z330, or LG.
- price range, $88 or $150?

thanks,
since the omni and lg 8900 and the z330 share the same chipset, would it be fair to think that since the lg8900 and the z330 both support divx subtitles that there could be a firmware upgrade to allow divx subtitles.
I don't think you will see a firmware update for this model (at least from the factory).
At that price, I would say that what you see is what you get.
(I have released a long filename support update for that model though, see my link below).
Some factory firmware can be tweaked, adding functionality is a whole different ball game.
