.....narrowly missing the occupant who had left the room after making the
bed.
Gilmore, ACT.
The driver and passenger escaped the scene. A can of open beer was found in
the car. A witness reported the sounds of a burn-out before the car lost
control, hit the kerb and went into the house. Only the tail-lights were
seen poking thru the smashed wall. The police are seeking the driver to
assist them with their investigations.

You've got to watch those blue AU falcons.
I see a lot of burnout marks around town. Where my road meets Captain's Flat
road, a long arrangment of burnout marks have appeared. The time some
neighbours in Canberra decided to do some on the street, with a container of
motor oil, the police almost fell asleep on the phone as we were reporting
it.

Heard this on the ABC Canberra radio news this morning.
The thing that cracked me up was the "policespeak" where it was stated
"...the driver ALLEGEDLY fled the scene...".
Like, the driver wasn't there when the police arrived. Assuming the car
wasn't driverless when it happened (!) it seems pretty obvious the driver
DID flee the scene.
Gotta love the way these guys talk.

They have to say "allegedly" in case aliens took him, or he strolled away
from the scene as opposed to fled, or he took out his bicycle and treadled
away...accuracy.

Doin't know where you stand here but when I took out a hyro pole,my
first objective was to get out of there, one because it was dark and
could not see if I or passenger was injured(felt rather injured) and
two it was pissing down with rain, three, there was no-one for
miles,untill a car came along,
As the pole was left hanging and ballancing the hydro(aroura) insisted
that I had fled the site and were considering sueing me for putting
peoples life in danger as to not report the problem of a damaged pole
immeditley.
So in this case someone eles hypothetical life was more important than
my passenger and me.
Police would have claimed if called(no point in calling them) that we
fled the site anyway and then booked us for one, driving dangerously or
without care, two having bald front tires, three for having no front end
attached to the car.
*Allegedly* because there was no-one to blame of present I would
imagine.Yeah the aliens

Bloody hell! - you'd think the police would be all fired up over that.
Indecent Exposure, Lewd behaviour, Disturbing the peace - the whole
shootin match - probably including pissed in a public place charges as
a bonus.
