What happened to the good old days

when you could fill a manual trans through the gearlever hole? I went to do
this last night on the rx7 only to find that it is somehow seperate from the
rest of the box. It still has oil in it but it must be via a small hole of
some sort. I was previously mistaken thinking the gearbox was full to the
brim of oil. Anyway, I had to use one of those damn plunger things that leak
everywhere.

I put redline oil in as was recommended here (thanks everyone), it did make
an improvement but you can still tell the box is a little worn out.

If you did that on HT Holden 3 speed, you'd get oil all over the rubber
mats.

All my Mazda's can be filled this way anything upto S3 RX7 I have
played with,You must have a strange RX7?!?
What model is it?
Would not venture into the car with a bottle or oil...lol

Yeah, I've filled everything from rx3, 808, capella, 929, rx5, rwd 121 and
early rx7 this way. Not that I've had all of these cars, just had or seen
their gearboxes.

It's a 94 model. I think they must have had to extend the gearlever back.
