LG DV9723P Display Screen, Which One?

Hi all,

Just got this LG player today and plays everything i got to give it (so far) and am very happy as for me it doesn't make much noise if at all when reading DVD-R discs i've made...tho i've read different around here.

My question is am i alone in having the small screen on the players display only show the time and nothing else?

I ask as the pic on LG site shows other icons that light up, but i get only the timer on the right hand side. Is this the same for everyone that has this player or am i alone?
