I've been looking into buying a DVD recorder with hard disk and I came across the 7521W on the LG site. This machine has a dual layer burner (+R only) AND has DivX capability. Anyone know anything further about this one ?? - any owners out there ?? (long shot I know :)).
Downside is a RRP of $1099 :(
Edit: Just found that LG are offering $100 cash back on the 7521W plus some other models until the end of July :)

hmmmmm...$999, about the same price as a decent HTPC setup with remote / digital TV receiver card and a multitude of recording and encoding options...I know which way I'll be going :)

I'm not prepared to go over to the dark side just for the sake of replacing a VCR (even tho Apple may be looking at doing that themselves....to a certain degree).
In any event this is something that others will have to use, so something so user unfriendly (:)) is not an option....

Doesn't have to be user-unfriendly, you can get some very powerful yet easy to use menu driven HTPC software (from what I've read about, anyway :) ). And the PC is infinitely customisable, and upgradeable when required.
PC's are my friend :dD
