I've been using composite cables with my XMS-888 until now, but I recently decided to plug it directly into the LCD with component cables. I've got the audio running fine but I get "No Signal" on my screen when I switch to the source it's on. I've played with all the buttons on the remote and tried various other things but I cannot get a picture.

I'm wondering if there is a way to do a master reset on this player so I can start from scratch. Thanks.

I would suggest pluging it back in via composite and changing your menu settings to component first, any reset would generally default it back to composite output anyway.

I thought about that after I posted. Didn't work. :( Possibly the component output just isn't working anymore. I did buy this for $50 (ex-display stock) so I'm thinking it might be time to buy a replacement. jok11n, any suggestions?

Heaps of players in the market these days, for a budget player (sub $200) I don't think you can beat MediaTek based players, current favourite seems to be the LG, the newer Zensonic with the Hitachi drive is good also and has some advantages with customised firmware available, for a budget player the $88 Omni DX4200 is a decent performer also, although stocks are limited on this one and you may have trouble finding stock.
