On November 7, 2001, Roadshow Entertainment delivers the exciting DVD release of BAMBOOZLED – a wicked satirical comedy from the director of ‘Do The Right Thing’, ‘Malcolm X’, and ‘Summer Of Sam”, Mr Spike Lee.
BAMBOOZLED on DVD features widescreen 16.9 enhanced presentation, Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby 2.0, English subtitles, theatrical trailer and scene selection.
This hilarious DVD features a superb line-up of special extras including an “Audio Commentary With Spike Lee” – an informative and exciting exploration of scene relevance, music significance and character development.
BAMBOOZLED on DVD also consists of a brilliant “Making Of Bamboozled” option – featuring behind-the-scene shots, interview clips with Clyde Taylor (historian) and Damon Wayans.
This DVD boasts a generous sampling of deleted scenes including: Manray And Womack Talk About Sloan, Dunwitty And Dela Discuss Who Should Direct Pilot, Dela Meets Jukka And Complains To Sloan About It, Wishing Good-luck Backstage, Dela Talks To Orchid Who Holds Up Baby Picture, Onstage At The Apollo, Big Black And 1/16th Try To Log On, Manray Dragged Backstage, Manray’s Alley Dance, Barnett Speaks To Sloam And Dela, Mau Man’s Dance Of Death, Blak Iz Blak Music Video (old version), Da Bomb Spot #1, Da Bomb Spot #2, Da Bomb Spot #3, Hillnigger Spot #1, Hillnigger Spot #2, Hillnigger Spot #3 and Hillnigger Spot Dance (only version).
BAMBOOZLED also includes an “Animated Art Gallery” – an interesting collection of images from the movie. This DVD also offers two music videos for you to enjoy – Mau Maus “Blak Iz Blak” and Gerald Levert “Dream With No Love”.
On DVD BAMBOOZLED also features cast and crew information for Wayans, Lee, Savion Glover, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Tommy Davidson and Michael Rapaport.
Shot in guerilla style, with a title taken from a speech by civil rights activist, Malcolm X, BAMBOOZLED is revolutionary cinema-shocking, confronting, and explosively provocative. But the real stinger is that it’s also brutally funny.
Wayans is Pierre Delacroiz, a pretentious Ivy League television writer who has been ordered by his wannabe home-boy boss (Rapaport) to create a hit television show skewed to African Americans. As a protest, he develops a new millennial minstrel show, so offensive he believes it will start riots. But it is a massive hit and his whole belief system explodes in his face.
What follows is a biting satire on media and manipulation delivered with a fierceness not seen the Oscar® winning Network and a structure reminiscent of Mel Brooks’ hit comedy, The Producers.
BAMBOOZLED on DVD is rated MA15+ with a running time of approximately 130 minutes.
In 2001, Roadshow Entertainment will continue to deliver fresh and exciting DVD titles including SWORDFISH, FIFTEEN MINUTES and DRIVEN.
Thanks for reading....
