Hmm, maybe try this one… kind of like the effect when radio-station surfing and hearing different songs whose combined lyrics kind of still make sense. Thus, the game would be to create a continuing free-flow based entirely on quoted snippets from song lyrics. One person quotes a line of lyric from a song (and identifies the song / artist) and then the second person carries on by adding another line or lyric from a different song but which carries through: for example…
1:“the lunatic is on the grass” (Brain Damage – Pink Floyd)
2:“the wind would brush his hair against his brow” (Dark Night of the Soul – Loreena McKennitt)
...then reacting to the Loreena McKennitt lyric immediately above, another might add something else. You can punctuate by choosing a lyric that is also the end of a sentence or beginning a new sentence when the opportunity arises, or even add lyrics as “dialogue” if a character is mentioned and you have a lyric in mind that the character might say, for instance:
1:“the lunatic is on the grass” (Brain Damage – Pink Floyd)
2:“ “when I am King you will be first against the Wall” “ (Paranoid Android – Radiohead)
3:“said the joker to the thief” (All Along the Watchtower – Jimi Hendrix)
..and so on; whatever you think works – it’s just a game: :)
So as a possible starting point, how about….
“The sirens are screaming and the fires are howling” (Bat Out of Hell – Meatloaf)
