Hi All,
Looking at buying a Humax HD-7000 Set top box. Do any of you own one/have
experience with them? Buying it for $360 and just looking for opinions
before purchasing.

I have one. Same innards as LG 4100. Good STB, good price. Check the
firmware is V3 or later.

change the oil every 6000km and make sure you lube the chain

Just came across this thread from you as I just purchased a Humax HD-7000 but find that everytime you turn it on at the remote it freezes on "HELLO" and goes no further.Feel like taking it back due to this problem.

You would be wise to return it, It might only be a software fault, but hay,
you bought it new, and it should be working .

been using for more than 6 months. I bought it because Humax was the only one offering 2 yr warranty.
I have had no issues with it. no freezing/clipping/audio sync problem etc. i have it connected to my fujitsu hi-def 42" - and it works a treat.
in my humble opinion it is better than dgtec, sony, pana etc. Strong high end is too costly.
$360 sounds damn good price to me !!!!
