Have a look at the new speaker cabinets from WES, then you can buy your
speakers, Crossovers to suit yourself.

You should talk to Rick Stadelmaier or at the very least check out
Equinox Audio website. He has some great speakers for a great price. I
believe he even has some older demo models available at the moment so
they maye suit your price range more.

I recently bought a pair of Krix Lyrix Gold, outstanding speakers, the sound from my less-than-perfect amp is unbelievable, i didnt think it was possible! They cost $1499, bought from Harvey Norman and they threw in cables/connectors/freight for free, so i was very happy.
If you read up on Krix, you will be impressed, they consistently take out the Sound and Image awards (among others) and just last week took out yet another for their latest addition to their range. They are Adelaide based, and imo why buy (and pay for import) anything other than Australian speakers....they are up there with the rest of the world!

Thanks all. In the end, I bought the Equinox Aphelions from Rick. Fantastic pair of speakers at a great price. It was delivered to my house to be demoed for a week and a half. After that I even "dare" to ask Rick for another week so I can go out to see if I can find anything equivalent or of better value. Rick gracefully accepted without putting any pressure on me at all.
In the end, the solid build and audio quality of the speakers sways me away from the likes of JMLab Focal Chorus line, Dynaudio Audience 62, Athena AS-F2 and also the Krix Lyrix Gold. No offence intended for people that owns any of these speakers, for the price I paid for the Aphelions, it is simply better.
