The volume level from an AverTv digital TV card varies enormously from channel
to channel, with channel 10 being the loudest by far. For me, changing channels
also means having to change the volume control as well.
Even the ABC HDTV sound level is different from the non-HDTV ABC sound level
when showing the same program.
Is this a symptom of a poor quality card/software or are the channels really
that different? (This is in Perth).

I found that some channels have a default sound compression at MPEG whereas
others default to Dolby. The MPEG is lowder than the Dolby.
Jay
I've found that on Foxtel Digitel, Ch 10 is always louder than any other
channel.
Aido.
