I am looking at setting up a HTPC to feed directly into my XGA projector (via the VGA connector).

I think I can get my head around the DVD playing, recording to HD and the HDTV tuner setup.

What I am not sure about is the best way to feed in my foxtel digital signal ... since I do not want to loose any picture quality, my preference would be to feed the component video directly into my PC, which can forward it on to the projector. Is there an economical solution to achieve this? ... Does anyone know of a low cost video input card that has component in??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I do this with Austar, but I use Svideo in on a Hauppaugge PVR250. There is
some quality loss though. I don't know of any component in video cards. If
they are out there they will be expensive. Not sure its really going to be
worth it. Certainly not economical.

Oh another encoder card I am using that seems to be good value is the
Avermedia M150. These can be found for a bit over $100.

Hope this helps.
