1. How about asking somewhere more appropriate, or shopping around yourself?
2. Why would a new person know where to get one...?

The educational price direct from Apple Australia with free shipping is
$269.50 for the 4Gb, only a few dollars more than your cheapest price.
Have you tried haggling with resellers for a cash sale? You should be
able to do better than $265, although I'm told it's still a seller's
market for these things.

You're probably not going to do too well getting much better than that
- there is so little margin in those things that it's not funny...
As another poster mentioned, if you're a student (full time) you get an
edu discount, but other than that you're not going to find much
difference anywhere...

1. - I have shopped around, hence I gave the best price I can find
2. - apoligies spelling nazi
3. - If you have nothing appropriate to add why waste your time?

Ah, but alas it isn't wasting my time.
Because this is currently a good newsgroup without the normal signal to
noise that ruins many other groups. I'd like to keep it this way and
pointing out off-topic posts is one of the ways which this is achieved.
I'd suggest you look up what usenet ettiquette is if you have a problem
with this.

John, they were a couple of good posts and I wish more
people on more groups would take the time and effort to
point out "netiquette" firmly and fairly as you have done.
I couldn't agree more with the S/N comment either.

Thanks TT! Yes, it is one of the better groups and has been that way
since the aus.audio-visual's were created. You just have to look at
what has become of aus.dvd (and before that the alt.video.ld if I
remember correctly) to see what happens when an un-moderated group gets
completely off track... :-(
Good bunch of people here with some exceptional talent and knowledge
that can easily be accessed. Always something interesting to read!

There is also *NO* Phil Allison and "wannabes" here ;-)
aus.hi-fi is being killed by PITAs (and has just been
invaded by the rabble from RAO) and aus.dvd should be
renamed aus.dvd-burning/pirating.
Ah well such is life (Big sigh...............)
Cheers TT
