AFAIK Toyota are claiming record sales.

Wondering yesterday if (a) I'm simply taking the
wrong route to work and don't see them on the
roads (b) Toyota have the things on back order
in huge quantity, or (c) no one wants them.

Buggered if I've seen many on the roads in Shiteney
in the past few months, a contrast to when the
100 series L/C came out, or any new 'rolla; seemed
to be heaps of them instantly.

Yesterday I saw two (both 4x4) which reminded me to
post this, the only other three were over a month ago,
two of them a couple of days after release.

ToyCo waiting for a boat load which just arrived?

Bullshit, I've seen three on the road, ever.

I've done engineering certificates on about 5 so far.

The fleet market appears to be taking large numbers of them.

Toyota have got to be joking, the HiLux is WAY overpriced, and it wont
be long as the new "king" will be the Navara [at least in bragging
rights]
The V6 Petrol will have 198kW/385Nm and the T/Diesel Navara will have
128kW/403Nm both more than the new HiLux

Toyota have recently slashed the RRP prices of people-movers, both the
Tarago and Avensis have had huge price drop, the HiLux will follow,
after all a top line double cab is near $60k!!

Funny you say that as I was looking at one today with a lift kit and
bigger wheels thinking how good it looked. (turbo)

The navara is generally decent except for the shitty interior where the new
hilux and rodeo are miles ahead.

Seen the interior of a bese model new 'lux? [shudder] YUCK.

Actually, cone the think about it, it you stuck a canopy on a dual-cab ute
body, you could use it as a taxi. It's already got the vinyl interior
that looks as if several drunks have thrown up in it. :-)

... and somewhat huge to boot. I've only seen one around the Shoalhaven too
(at Woolies) and we seem to be 4x4 city most weekends - convoys of 'em down
from Sydney. Cheers
