Fuel consumption is very good, for the service stations.
However, I believe Holden are now making a V6 version.
Given the 1.9 tonne weight of the vehicle, plus a small 3.6 litre V6, it
will be a rip snorter :-)

BTW, GMH will not give fuel consuption figures on their web site.

Good luck :-)

Walk into a dealer with intent to buy I'm sure that they'd give an easy 8.5
Gorillas off an Adventra to get rid of one!

It wont be too bad, if they put that new 190kw v6 in it.

Some.

There's around half a dozen in my local area, which isn't too bad
considering that they're a pretty slow selling vehicle. It would be
interesting to see what the new 6's economy is like, but I personally
wouldn't expect it to be good.

Yhe mid range Adventra is speced to a Berlina Wagon standard.

About the same price, leather, and the 190km V6. Its only 150kg more than
the wagon. Seems like good value for money.

So whats wrong with the Adventra?

And the fuel economy is better than the Territory. the official stats says
13.5L/100km.

Only if they stick a big block in the back as well.

i've driven the V8 and obviously the fuel consumption is high.

other than that my major criticism is that all the work holden have
done to improve the steering feel on commodores since the bad old days
of the VX and earlier has been undone with the fitment of AWD. it's
lifeless.

other than that it drives OK, there's nothng fundamentally wrong with
it. whether it's really worth the price premium over a commodore is
another question.

I did some calculations on it, and its power to weight ratio is only
marginally worse than a 175kW Commo Exec or Acclaim wagon.

What surprised me is that the cheapest Adventra, the SX6, costs about the
same as an Acclaim wagon, but is significantly better specified.
Effectively you get AWD, the 190kW engine, 5 speed auto, ESP, 17"
wheels/tyres and some other things thrown in for free.

Yes that is what I thought. Petrol consumption is a bit more, but hey.

That just shows how desperate Holden are to get rid of them, it must be
the most unsuccessful vehicle sales wise that Holden have ever made.

Heh - it would appear they shat themselves fresh from the showroom -
which no doubt gave the marketing jerks a prime does of the same,
because there was no chance of a con-jobbie on the public sufficient
to sell the rotten things in any numbers.

They were a very sad POS but I'd guess they sold more of those than the
Adventra.

Yeah. Good news for buyers though, the choice for me would be very easy
between the two. It's not a bad car, not by a long way, it just suffers
from not having the 'proper 4WD' look that is apparently so important to
family wagon buyers.

But even if you forget about the "proper 4WD look" IMO they still look
out of proportion.
The wider track just looks wrong and doesn't suit the rest of the car.
