Monster Cables anyone using any any difference at all ??

iam thinking of getting some for my HD PC to HD Tv connection some
componet cables. Just want the best picture i can get. Not going to
get the REALy expensive cables just the 200 Aussie dollar ones.

Ive read that they work better with HD and you notice the qiality
colours sharpness much more with HD over SD.

If you think iam wrong let me know :)

Thanks.

Just a waste of money.

No professional uses them.

There is no improvement over standard RG59 C/U coax at less than
$1 per metre.

Yes, yes, yes......high price cables are a rip-off. There is even one
which claims to route current one way only. Beat that.

There are people out there , that could write books about Hi-end Hi-priced
cables, interconnects, speaker cables .Power cords. The truth is, all they
improve is your ego..
We have all read the blurb, and some of us have been ridiculed for saying
other wise, but at the end of the day "a lead is a lead", be it a $1000.
interconnect or a $2. cable from Go-Lo.
They will tell you that the high's are higher, the lows are lower, and the
sound has better colour, ???
But ask them to have two identical systems , one with posh leads and the
other with wet string, behind a screen, and get them to tell you which is
which, and they run for cover.
One of the latest stories is about HI-end , Hi-performance Power Cords,
that improve the voltage balance, add colour to the sound, {here we go
again ] What they fail to tell you is that the power cord only goes as far
as the power transformer, and goes no where near the output stage..
Dur.
About the only thing that does improve the signal, is good quality RG 59,
or better still RG 6 coax cables.. They also make good interconnects, if you
can get brass RCA plugs [why not gold plated, because they also don,t exist,
and if they did, there a very bad conductor] with a 6 or 8 mm entry.

On the whole, I agree. There can be some minor differences with
interconnects & speaker cables, but it is the law of diminishing returns.
'Directional' cables really amuse me - what, are all the electrons flowing
the same way or something?

Overly expensive speaker cable amuses me the most - if only people were
aware of the cable used internally throughout their speakers.

I worked at a high end store in Sydney that had a 4 month closing down sale
about 8 years ago. We ran out of speaker cable in the first week, so we went
off to WES Components & bought up heaps of the best looking cable they had.
Came back & marked it up 500% & sold it all in no time. We must have done
that 5 or 6 times, each time buying out the entire stock of a particular
cable. The customers obviously thought that as it was being sold in a high
end store, it was high end cable & that they were getting a bargain (sorry
folks - the staff grabbed all the good stuff). We didn't receive a single
complaint about how they 'sounded'. Apologies if I sold it to you, but if
you knew the store, you knew the owner & really shouldn't have expected
anything else.
