Hi
I have a LG Divx player (LG LX-D2640 Divx mini hi-fi system) and I am having a problem with some files. The files appear in the menu of the dvd player (so it detetcts them ok), but when I go to play them it says it is reading index, then skips through each file without actually playing until it reaches the end of the disc. I initially used MPEG modifyer to unpack the bitstream, and have tested both packed and upacked varients. The specs of the file seem to be within the parameters indicated by the LG manual (re bitrate and picture resolution etc). I used GSPOT to check the parameters of the files that would not play with some that do and can't see what major diffences there are. I am not really sure what my next step is as I am a newb at all this. Anyone got any ideas? I would really appreciate any help as it is starting to get me frustrated. Thanks

I ran one of these files through Dr DIvX and reincoded and it at least played, though the audio was out of synch. I would rather not have to reincode every one of these files if there was another solution. Thanks

Posting the details as reported by gspot would be helpful, a bit hard to offer any suggestions without actually knowing what you are dealing with.

Thnaks for your reply. Not sure how to capture the GSpot data in text fromat, so have given a screen shot of GSPOT info. Thanks again. Tried a reincode using AutoGK...it works on the dvd player but again audio is out of synch...arrrrgggggghhhhhhhhh

I think I worked out what the problem is...the files that wont play all have the following setting in MPEG modifyer QPEL = YES. Is there an easy way to change this. Whenever I try to reincode, the audio seems to get out of synch. Cheers
