If the usb is disabled in these, can it be bypassed to allow download
from the unit to a pc?

What would you want to download from the unit? All the Mpeg2 video
recordings are all encrypted on the disk so unless you have an external
NDS decryption device/software the data will be useless.

Yes it would have. The OP asked if the USB can be bypassed. Kubalister's
post did not answer that question.

Thanks folks: my boss has an IQ unit and he was curious as to whether
movies recorded on the hard drive can be usb'd to a PC (once the usb
disbalement has been re-enabled) to durn to dvd.
It twould seem that's not possible, correct?
