Just did some quick research on the web and found reviews such as:
Strengths: Point-and-click recording to HD is a breeze.
Weaknesses: Unit has continuous problems with audio/video sync.
Summary: Programs recorded to hard drive start out fine, but as show
progresses, audio and video begin to slip out of sync. By the end of a
2-hour program, audio and video are often off by 2 seconds.
What is your return policy with cases like these?

Same policy as all else... Full Credit Refund within 7 days, then normal
warranty conditions. I will be getting the 5045 myself and will test it and
report. There does seem to be some varying reports - but one thing for
sure - it is at a great price.

Interesting. I've got a 5045, and I've never had an audio sync problem.
Was that a local review?

US I think. But I've read reviews form othe rmodels and there seems to be a
few sync problems with these HDD recorders. Mostly sporadic complaints, but
still a lot more then you ever get with crappy old VHS
