Hi all,

I have got this video on my computer.
I tried iti n WMP, Real, Quicktime and DivX it did the same thing.
Pic is attached.

Call me a newbie to this....but what is a test pattern?

Also, when I opened it in DivX, i said it was a "MJPG".

I was thinking it looked like a test pattern like the ones they used to show on TV stations before opening and after closing times.

It could be that is what it's meant to look like. If it's something you downloaded and were expecting something else it may be that you have downloaded a dummy file, these appear at times on file sharing networks to try and put people off downloading illegal files. Kind of a sneaky tactic but it does happen.

this seems the most likely scenario...

normally i would say "are your codecs up to date?" but that pic does not look like a codec problem.
