Cold Case is great for HD, as are all the iterations of CSI, as long as you
can stand to watch the show ;-)
During the day, 9 often has a demo loop running, which is pretty good.

Only 9 and 10 broadcast in 1080i - on 9 the letters HDTV appear below the 9
watermark when HD is broadcast, on 10 there's no logo, go figure.

I always find "Totally Wild" a good place to test out the HD.
Yeah I know its a kiddy show, but they always seem to have such crisp
clear pictures of wildlife and other outdoor things.

Very pirdy pictures indeed :)

You are confusing RF channels (VHF6-12 and UHF28-69)
with "Logical Channel Numbering [LCN]". As each RF
channel (also known as a multiplex) can support more
than one program stream it no longer makes sense to
refer to an RF channel number. Instead the stations
were allocated the following numbers:

Metropolitan Regional
ABC 2,2x,2xx ABC 2,2x,2xx
SBS 3,3x,300-349 SBS 3,3x,300-349
Seven 7,7x,7xx Prime 6,6x,6xx
Nine 9,9x,9xx WIN/NBN 8,8x,8xx
Ten 1,1x,1xx Southern Cross 5,5x,5xx

The 1 digit numbers are the SD main channel. The two
digit numbers are HD and additional SD channels (and SBS radio
channels). ABC uses 3 digit numbers for their radio channels.
