Good to know there are the beginnings of an active LG firmware hacking community. Unfortunately, to date it looks like the mods are restricted to the perennial favorite area of playing with DivX subtitles.

Hopefully they'll get bored of this pretty quickly and start working on some more nifty stuff like a 'time remaining' feature and the ability to activate the memory card slots (aka USB support) via the remote.

Also interesting to note that at least one 8xxx series firmware has the ability to play DVD-Audio discs. :)
