Does anyone work for Telstra? It seems Telstra is trying to move more and
more staff into 'shell' companies. I guess the real Telstra is always going
to be just a collection of lawyers and accountants.

The Federal Govt disagree, which is why they are pushing so hard to
sell. The management of Telstra want it too - so they get the bonuses
that go with a large scale float, which regardless of the actual share
price will be *successful* as far as their contract goes.
