Any idea's before I chuck it and buy something new?

ok, back to the woes, I've been told a 3 week turnaround can be expected for repair of my xms888 or the decision to replace. What a joke. I asked what about a stand-on loan dvd player, and was told no. Thats ok, I don't mind, it was worth asking. I then asked whats the cheapest dvd player they had. I was told $109. Now I looked at the website, there is the xms288, which I was tempted to buy to get me out of the bind I'm in, but theres none in stock except for the other side of town, a good 45 minute drive away. A lot of trouble to retain my custom with xms and strathfield. Which I've been pretty good with, xms tv, dvd, amp, subwoofer and speakers. No complaints to date except the after sales service. Currently looking to borrow a player, if not borrow buy the cheapest I can around in the next day or so.

If you asked what was the cheapest they had, they may have only mentioned what they have in stock, not what is the cheapest model listed, would have been nice if they took the time to understand your question though.

My 888 just didn't power on after some time.

It was within the warranty period and the good people of Strathfield replaced the player with a Zensonic 330 and that seems to work a treat.

It sucks that you have to wait all this time for your 888 to be repaired - they should of simply replaced it.

Warranty and extended warranty are two different things though, extended warranty is similar to an insurance policy and are handled and approved by a 3rd party company.
