Time marches on and Eddie, Patsy and Saffy are growing up... or rather, in the case of Eddie and Patsy, growing old...

HOSPITAL
"Goodbye ageing, obscurity and Hello! Magazine", Patsy's got a week to look 35 for the photos - cue a trip to hospital for a face peel and eye rejuvenation.

DEATH
Edina's father is dead. But is it art?

Morocco
Sex, Drugs and shopping - Marrakesh proves to be a busman's holiday for Edina and Patsy.

NEW BEST FRIEND
Lacroix and baby spew just don't mix. Eddie's old friends are immersed in the "no fun baby world" and her minimalism has been replaced with mess.

POOR
Harrods has stopped delivering and Saffy's sent Patsy and Eddie off to the supermarket - whatever that is. Things are at crisis point - Eddie's going to be poor.

BIRTH
Is the queen of tofu getting a life? Saffy's top button is undone and Edie's armed with her Cosmo Sex Quiz, ready for some mother and daughter bonding.

AUDIO/VISUAL:

Audio:
Absolutely Fabulous: Series 2 only has just the Dolby Digital 2.0 audio.
There's pretty simple use of the speakers with all of the audio coming from the front of the room.
There was no activity by the sub or the surrounds.
Dialogue was mostly clear and easy to understand and sync didn't seem to be a problem.

Video:
The episodes on this DVD are all shown in full screen.
I didn't think the video transfer was too bad at all when taking in account the source, production standards, budget etc, of the show featured on this DVD.
I found the image to be mostly clear and sharp with no real signs of imperfections such as blemishes or grain.
Although colours are far from striking, they are still very good and don't suffer from any major problems.
The layer change is very obvious at the 8.32 mark of the fourth episode when it paused mid scene on a close up of Joanna Lumley.

EXTRA FEATURES:

Photo Gallery -
The screen is taken up by an image of what's meant to be a camera lens that contains a still photo in the middle. You then select an arrow to skip forward to the next still photo in a series of shots of the cast from the show.
Absolutely Not- Out Takes- (14.05)
This is a hilarious fourteen minutes of goofs that are guaranteed to get a laugh.
They are shown in full screen and have Dolby Digital 2.0 audio.

OVERALL:

If you already have series one on DVD, then this one is pretty much more of the same.
This is a good thing if you are a fan of the series as they stick to their winning formula and do it very well of course.
The DVD contains decent enough audio/visuals and the extras are a bit light on, however the fourteen minutes of out takes are a crack up and are good for a laugh.
I think fans will find this DVD to be good value.
Absolutely Fabulous: Series 2 is out now with a SRP of $34.95
