Been looking at PSP games on offer - and they mention whether they are PAL or NTSC. Does it matter?? The games are said to be region free so what is the effect of the PAL or NTSC?
This could be a stupid question but figured I'd ask it

All games are region free, only the movies have region locks.

So whats the point of the PAL/NTSC formatting (of the games)? Does it affect anything at all?

Not that I am aware of. As I said there will be region locking on movies, but otherwise it's like a PC, PAL/ntsc is of no importance.

what? Um. THe PSP has its own screen. Its not like a tv system. Are you sure you saw PAL/NTSC or just regions? (yes there is a difference)

Yes I'm 100% sure I saw PAL/NTSC on all the game descriptions. I do understand the difference ;)
Maybe its only an issue if you hook it up to a tv or something.

:p
The point of this question was to see if that was the only impact of the PAL/NTSC stuff?!!
Hey does anyone know if Dynasty Warriors has multiplayer mode? Trying to work out what my first game should be to tide me over until Burnout is released :D

can you show where you saw this NTSC/PAL stuff. Looking at my US copy of NFL Street 2 Unleashed I see no designation of NTSC on it, nor a designation of region bar the US Ratings label which lets me know its US game

I've seen it on a number of sites.. but as an example

(people give Formats)
Unless they're just standard things for all game items that were left in but redundant for psp..

I bought a game for my Nintendo DS from Canada and it worked fine. I don't think it matters at all with hand helds. Don't know why they bother

Just just what they write on the descriptions, doesnt mean the games are actually NTSC or PAL. PSP games are currently universal. Only movies have regions

What game did you buy ? and why did you buy it from Canada?? :)Meteos. I got it from there because that's where the ebay seller was. It's not available here until September or something like that.

and since handheld titles are region free, you'd do better to import titles because you
a) get them earlier
b) or get them cheaper as they've been out longer.

I think I left it too late with the ebay auctions.. I haven't seen any real bargains in the US.. so I'm sure everyone else is looking for games overseas too.. does anyone know if Burnout (Legends?) is being released on the same date internationally?
