From the back cover….

A COMEDY ABOUT LOVE, SEX AND SADOMASOCHISM!
whipped wipd/ v.
- caught under a woman's spell, thereby acting in a extraordinarily ridiculous, always embarrasing manner.
They fancy themselves as Tom Cruise in Risky Business, Mickey Rourke in 9 and a 1/2 Weeks and Andrew McCarthy in St. Elmo's Fire. In reality, they're more like The Three Amigos!
Nevertheless, Brad, Zeke and Johnathon are constantly on a mission to score. Lies, deception, betrayal- these guys will do anything to bed a babe - and then, of course, they get together to exaggerate about it afterwards.
So it's only fitting that when these three finally meet the girl of their dreams, it's the same girl. Yep, at last, they've met a girl as two-timing (make that three-timing) as they are and oh boy, are they about to get a taste of their own medicine.
It's American Pie meets Sex In The City in this wickedly satisfying and sexy comedy starring Amanda Peet (The Whole Nine Yards) and Brian Van Holt (Very Brady Sequel).

Audio/Visual….

WHIPPED is presented in an aspect of 1.85:1 and is 16:9 enhanced.
The picture is sharp as well as smooth and clean and very rarely suffers from any marks, blemishes or grain.
The colours and blacks are not outstanding, but are bright and do look good as expected with a more recent release movie.
Audio is Dolby Digital 5.1 and it's isn't too bad for a very "talky" movie supported by a descent soundtrack.
The front soundstage is strong with only the very slightest low level bass being used, if at all.
There is no noticeable panning or separation with the front speakers though.
Speech is well anchored to the screen and very easy to understand which is obviously important in a movie that relies on a lot of talking.
The rears do a good job of immersing you in the various music tracks which do sound pretty good, but that's about all they do though as rear effects aren't really used in this movie.

Extra features…..

Trailer - Shown in full screen and is in Dolby Digital 5.1
The visual quality of this trailer is average and the colours are faded.

Overall…..

WHIPPED is basically a story of three single guys (and a married friend) who regularly meet up in a diner to brag about their latest sexual conquests, and then find that things get very interesting when they meet Mia (Amanda Peet).
I'd never heard of this movie before the review DVD showed up and I can't say that I liked it as I started watching it as it did have me thinking that it was a very average male version os Sex In The City. Things did get better as the movie went along though and I really liked the way the story wound up towards the end, but I'll spare you from any spoilers.
WHIPPED is a mildly entertaining movie that looks and sounds good on DVD and only has an average looking trailer as an extra feature.
The end credits do feature some outtakes.
This is definitely a "try before you buy" movie that should appeal more to people who like the Sex In The City style of entertainment.
