I'm no fan of Pesty but anyone who goes whining to an ISP about what
someone posts deserves a fist in the mouth.

Be careful, Ron gets a mean swing on on that handbag of his.

I'd be very surprised if any ISP ever actually cancelled someone's
account just because of complaints.

There's a science/physics forum that I frequent that has what is
probably usenet's most persistent troll. Not that I ever bothered to
lodge a complaint, but if most of the other members are to be believed
then AOL must get about a dozen complaints a month - but still nothing
happens.

Indeed but as long as the ISP is getting someones money they won't can
the account.

AOL *shudders*
I've made threats to report idiots to their ISP but never really did I
could not be bothered. I guess where killfile is a great thing. :-)

Pretty much, yes. Unless it's mad spam or something.

Thankfully the trolls in here don't change their names with every
single post =)

You are kidding, I can't even think who it is, hardly a famous troll! What
about Vandeman, or Abraham? Actually those two have been kicked off news
servers.

Correct, because he only appears in one news group.

But I wasn't talking about famous, just persistent. He posts the same
long-winded speeches at regular and consistent intervals and has a
different (randomly generated) name with every post in order to get
around people's killfiles.

Not the most offensive or annoying or famous, just the most persistent
that I've seen.

Yeah, that's annoying. And it might qualify as spamming, if the text he
posts is the same? or do you mean same subject matter? Evading killfiles is
seriously annoying. I'm using mine quite a bit at the moment (mainly for
aus.tv, and sir Paul whatever his name is).

Speaking of trash how's the missus, Dan? Did the anal birth go ok?

Yep, that's what everyone accuses him of because at the end of it he
always directs the reader to his website.

He doesn't really bother me though, but many consider him an insult to
the supposed intelligent nature of the group.

The weird thing is he claims he is preaching to the possible newbies
and doesn't care that all the regulars don't agree with him. But if
that were true then why the constant killfile evasion? =)

Yep - I do not killfile at all - but, of course, it is still easier NOT to read a post from someone that I'm not fussed
about, than the opposite :)
